The jewelry industry is today increasingly replacing the goldsmith work with automated industrial processes, in order to save on costs. The difference between handcrafted jewelry and the industrial one lies precisely in production techniques, which determine the quality and uniqueness of the finished product.
A handcrafted jewel has the best characteristics for what concerns the care of the production stages, materials and details, so it’s unique and distinctive.
The steps of working with gold, are still very similar to the old ones: jewelry are in fact obtained by casting and implemented by various techniques, such as the chisel, the mold, the processing "cantilever", filigree, etc.
Where to begin in creating a jewel handcrafted, unique and personalized?
The starting point of each jewel is the study of the design. This process is the result of an extensive research to ensure at the same time innovation and respect for the tradition. Additional sources of inspiration can be many and diverse, therefore it becomes difficult to identify a sequence in creation.
In some cases the creation process starts from the selection of the gemstones, on the basis of which the finished jewel will be designed. In other cases, the creation starts from a simple idea or intuition, for which only subsequently activates the process of finding the most suitable gemstones and the most appropriate path to realization. This approach means that the jewel appears very special, unique and it reflects specific needs, something that it’s impossible to find in industrial mass production.
Finally the generated design project is delivered into the hands of master goldsmiths and through the use of techniques of the goldsmith's craft tradition, with great dedication and devotion to such practices, they generate the jewel as a work of art, unique and inimitable.
